TOFT is a full-service craft company designing and manufacturing fashion-led knitwear and is based on an alpaca farm in Warwickshire. We grade the raw fibre, design the yarns, develop the patterns, teach people how to make them and deliver all of that with a smile and a perfect cappuccino at our on-farm studio and coffee shop.

We are modern craft evangelists and the team is comprised of creative, independent thinkers challenging perceptions of knitters and crocheters. Our diverse business means there is never a boring day in the TOFT office or studio as we despatch orders, teach workshops and design and develop new patterns to take to market.

JOB TITLE: Full-time Creative Expert/Design Assistant  

ROLE SUMMARY: This will be a split role with 15hrs/week dedicated to teaching and serving our customers in the TOFT Studio, and three days working closely with the Creative director and Heads of Digital and Trade to design and develop TOFT patterns.  

Creative expert (Saturday and Sunday): working within the team who deliver all TOFT's Studio craft workshops including including assisting with teaching knitting and crochet skills at HQ Studio. This person will support workshop tutors to deliver an exceptional experience here at TOFT, and also become knowledgeable and skilled in TOFT products and techniques. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  assisting teaching and leading TOFT craft workshops. Serving TOFT's customers in our busy Studio shop to deliver highly memorable customer experience and meet sales target. The role will also include ensuring the Studio is clean and presentable.

Design Assistant (Wednesday at HQ and two flexible further days which potentially could be worked from home): working with the Creative Director and heads of department to design and develop TOFT's designs and products focussed on the magazine and knitwear collections.  Working creatively and independently to a brief which will sometimes involve tight deadlines.  The candidate will need to be a proficient knitter and crocheter with experience of writing patterns.  

SKILLS:  

Attention to detail and accuracy essential.

Crochet and knitting skills.
Confidence in customer service.
Ability to learn quickly and work within a fast paced environment.
Positivity, drive and enthusiasm.
Well presented.

Hours: Full time (37.5 hrs/week)  

Salary: from £16,700 subject to experience

This person will support workshop tutors to deliver an exceptional experience here at TOFT, and also become knowledgeable and skilled in TOFT products and techniques. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  assisting teaching on TOFT craft workshops. Serving TOFT's customers in our busy Studio shop to deliver highly memorable customer experience and meet sales target. 
The role will also include ensuring the Studio is clean and presentable.
