2011 Alpaca Farm Workshops

Toft Alpacas are offering a schedule of textile and fibre workshops and courses based around knitting and felting. Attendees will learn a new skill and have the chance to take a tour of the stud farm, learning how we get the fleeces 'from field to fashion'.

Toft workshops are conducted in a relaxed rural location on the Toft Stud Farm in Warwickshire. Toft Manor is a short hop from the M40 and M1, and we can also offer B & B accommodation at walking distance from the farm for those who want to make a weekend of it.

Felted Advent Calendar Workshop - Friday 11th November 2011

Felt 24 gorgeous little 3-D boots big enough for a sweet treat each day of advent! We’ll show you how to felt and mould boots from carded alpaca fleece, you can put your own unique designs on them or numbers 1-24.

Christmas Stocking, Knitted Sock Workshop - Friday 9th December 2011

Fancy knitting socks but think they’re just too daunting? We'll bust the 'turning the heel' and Kitchener stitch myths in this festive sock workshop and start knitting you off on your own unique Christmas stocking.

Felt Decorations Workshop - Saturday 17th December 2011

Get away from the Christmas chaos and spend a relaxing festive day at Toft Alpacas. Based around the creation of the gorgeous Toft felted baubles, felt hearts and mini knitted stocking decorations.

Introduction to Knitting – Saturday 21st January 2012

For the complete beginner. Come along for a day at Toft and together we will give you the confidence to continue and complete your first project.

Bulb Bag Knitting Kit Workshop – Saturday 3rd March 2012
£63pp (10am-3pm)

Join us at gorgeous time of year at the farm to knit your own piece of alpaca couture, the mini-bulb bag. This workshop will cover, knitting straight on circular needles, picking up stitches, knitting in the round, knitted felt making and much more. The price includes all the materials (yarn and button) for the mini bulb bag).

Intro to Felt Workshop - Saturday 14th April 2012

Spend a day learning the basics of wet felting, needle felting and knitted felt.

Create your own unique felt art work, purse, bowl or felt bead necklace!

Alpaca Textile Making and Shearing Day - Tuesday 17th May 2011
£50pp (10am-3pm)

Join us during shearing week! Experience at first hand one of the most important yearly events at the farm whilst we show you how to use felting processes to make unique textile art.

Intro to Colourwork
£50pp (10am-3pm)

An introduction to fairisle and intarsia colourwork including working with charts. Learn all the basics to neat and stylish colour combinations. For intermediate knitters only.

All workshops include a home cooked lunch and unless otherwise stated, the first 100g of yarn (except Felting workshops which include all materials).
