Alpaca Workshops and Alpaca Courses 2008

Toft Alpacas offers introductory courses, husbandry courses and family 'fun' days out throughout 2008. Our alpaca courses and days run from May through to October and vary in level of experience from beginners 'alpaca introductory courses' to Cameron Holt advanced 'alpaca fibre courses' for breeders.

USING MEASUREMENT AS AN AID TO SELECTION:
Sunday 5th October 2008
Measuring and Assessing for improvement.

ALPACA APPRAISAL AND SELECTION:
Weekend 18th, 19th October 2008
Studying Stud Structures, genetics, breeding systems, animal evaluation and assessment.

ADVANCED- ALPACA FIBRE PRODUCTION:
Weekend 25th, 26th October 2008
From follicle to fleece and beyond- advanced practical assessment, analysis and evaluation.

FAMILY FUN DAYS:
Sat 7th June Sat 16th August.
A fun day for those who want to get close to alpacas but don't want to take them home.
Saturday 7th June 10am-4pm
Saturday 16th August 10am- 4pm.
A fun day of activities, which will include walking, talking, herding, feeding, petting, handling, halter training, leading, fleece sorting and a picnic amongst the alpacas.
Adults &£30 and Children &£10,
Family ticket (two adults and up to three children) &£70.
Please note under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
