Small Alpaca Teddy

These charming alpaca fur teddy bears are wonderfully soft and all fantastic individual characters- warning- they are addictive!

Nothing is softer than the brushed fleece of alpacas- and here you can choose the breed type 'suri' or 'huacaya'. All alpaca teddy bears are designed to sit down without falling backwards and all these teddy bears are unique characters and are available in a random mixture of colours.

Huacaya alpacas are the breed type of alpacas that we all think of when we initially imagine an 'alpaca'. The fleece is crimpy and grows at right angles to the skin, creating that 'fluffy' teddy bear like appearance on the animal in the field. Subsequently the huacaya fur teddy bears are fluffy, cute, super soft and classically shaped teddy bears (like the first image here).

Suri alpacas have a long lustrous fleece with no crimp. The suri alpaca bears are very often described as having 'bad hair days!'. They have wonderful characters as their fleece falls in silky and shiny locks over their eyes. Suri alpaca teddy bears are super shiny and very soft.

Medium teds measure approx. 25cm from ears to toes.

Not recommended for unsupervised under 3s.

Alpacas are not killed for their fur; these alpaca teddy bears and other alpaca fur products stocked by The Toft Alpaca Shop are made from the skins of young alpacas which have unfortunately died through natural causes in Peru. Alpaca pelts are purchased off indigenous farmers and used to create items such as these alpaca fur teddy bears, our alpaca slippers and also our alpaca fur tippets. We feel that alpaca fur, when sourced in this way, is an ethical fur product as the alpacas are not harmed to any demand and the farmer gets a monetary return on the loss of income cause by the death of one of the herd.
