9 March 2015

This show was always going to be a big one.  For once it wasn't our trading space that was going to be the challenge, it was the 5 metre by 5 metre jungle and miles and miles of vine that we knew might cause us some head-scratching.

Kerry went down a day before we did (Tuesday) to get everything out the van and the base of the stand and jungle in place. Once she had decided how to do the build it was just having the girl-power to put it all up and complete the finishing touches. The rest of us (Me, Liz, Petra and another Emily) came down on the train around mid-morning to get going on completing the build.

Once it was all finished with vines hung, chairs in place, giant monkeys hanging and crochet hooks and yarn by chairs ready to go we felt it was time to eat pizza and go to sleep as the show was going to be a busy one.

The first day of the show started off slowly as we were all prepped for a big wave of people. As we were in the second hall it took a while for people to come in and find us, but once they found us it got very busy.

The next few days flew by as people were in and out of the vine making and learning how to make the start of the animals. Eveything was flying off at the other stand so much so that were very almost ran out of your project totes bags. Fur scarves were also very popular at this show had many bought them for mothers' day gifts!

All in all it has been a very busy and popular show. Everyone went away happy as they had learn to crochet a chained vine, start of an amigrumi animal or a granny square. Our charity monkey postcards were popular and everyone was supportative of our chosen charity. You can still support the project by donating at www.justgiving.com/crochetjungle

You'll be alble to catch us at other events (closer to home) later this year.  More news coming soon.
